AAHP CEC’s for NECHPS® Meetings

Meeting Calendar

The New England Chapter and the UMass Lowell Radiation Safety Department will be hosting a FREE Dirty Bomb and Source Theft Practical Exercise on August 29th from 12-4. Attendees are encouraged to bring a handheld radiation detector (gamma source identifier if they have it) and will partake in a source discovery exercise. A source(s) will be hidden in the Costello lot and participants will be provided info about a "source theft" from Lowell General Hospital. Once participants find and confirm the source, areas will be posted and first responders will be contacted. The simulated bomb "detonates" and the exercise becomes a dirty bomb response using the incident command structure.

Lunch will be provided, and 4 CEC’s are pending for this exercise. Please contact Andrew Najjar ( to register!
