Radiological Health Engineer will prepare radiation health reports, assist in the setup of detector and dosimetry systems, assist in the setup/administration of area monitoring and environmental TLD program, assist in emergency response, including operation of personnel and medical decontamination facilities both here and at the Submarine Base, New London. Support the radiation laboratory in the shipyard and at the SUBASE, and in support of by-product material compliance. The individual will provide oversight of medical records at both the shipyard and SUBASE. The individual will support external and internal dosimetry programs and become a National Voluntary laboratory Accredited approved signatory for our dosimetry programs. This individual must be able to qualify as a radiation worker and as a radiological engineer as specified by NAVSEA 389-0288 Radiological Controls.
Bachelors of Science in Engineering or related technical degree is required
Experience in radiological controls required
Radiological Health degree preferred
Naval Nuclear Propulsion program experience preferred
